If Everyone Followed Modern Career Advice, We Wouldn't Have Semiconductors

A lot of online advice pushes young people toward agencies, freelancing, personal brands, and entrepreneurship as if that is the ultimate goal.

But there is another path that deserves just as much respect.

Not everyone needs to start a business.

The computer you are reading this on, the internet, smartphones, AI, medical imaging, and modern medicine were not created by people trying to escape the 9-to-5.

They were built by generations of experts contributing to complex systems over decades.

Somewhere along the way, employee became synonymous with unambitious, and entrepreneur became synonymous with successful.

I do not think that is true.

A semiconductor engineer advancing chip manufacturing may contribute more to humanity than a hundred agency owners.

This is not anti-business.

Entrepreneurs are important.

But so are the people who dedicate their lives to advancing physics, biology, medicine, mathematics, engineering, and computer science.

Society needs both.

Start an agency has become the default career advice online.

Not everyone needs to sell a service.

Some people should be building reactors, designing chips, curing diseases, and advancing science.

Civilization cannot run on personal brands alone, and not everything valuable can be measured in monthly revenue screenshots.

Financial success is a worthy goal.

But so is helping push humanity's knowledge and technology forward.

We should stop acting like one path is inherently superior to the other.
